Well... We finally finished up the new ATB record. And wow. I learned more about guitar sounds over the past year and a half than I ever thought possible. Anyway, the hard work was worth it cause it really sounds great. Andy and I put in the time and chased down some pretty outstanding tones. Release date is May 2 on Steve Vai's Favored Nations label. The cover should look familiar. 11.16.04 Started working with Andy Timmons on guitar tracks for the new ATB record in October. We are working on and off when Andy is town and hope to finish tracking by the new year. So far we're very happy with the sounds and performances. 9.1.04 Recently upgraded the studio computer rig to a G5 dual 1.8 gig machine. Also upgraded to Logic 7. I've needed to make the jump to an all in one DAW for awhile and so far this system is awesome. Still have some things to work out as far as work flow, but I like having everything in one place. Definitely too many options. 6.3.04 Haven't updated the site in awhile, and here's why. #2 son, Aaron Stevenson Daane. Born 6.3.04. Everybody's doing fine if not for serious lack of sleep. 2.5.04 After a few years or so of people telling me to finish up the Studio site.... it's up! Pictures, a gear list, client list and several MP3 clips. Thanks to Brandon Carr for his help with the graphics. 1.24.04 Added a door to the bottom of the stairs of the studio with the help of my good friend Brian Hartig. Brian is the guy who did all the cabinets, and countertops, and is my go to guy for all DIY construction questions. Took about a week to finish it out but it works great and gives drums and Marshalls more isolation from the world and vice verse. Thanks Brian! 1.16.04 Got back from NAMM '04 in Anahiem. Thanks to Steve Mueller at Mesa/Boogie for the hookup. Ibanez was releasing Andy's Signature Model Guitar, the AT300, and I wanted to be there to check it out. Ibanez really nailed the guitar, as it feels exactly like Andy's. Quite a show. Got to see many friends that I hadn't seen in many years. 1.3.04 Starting work on a new record for the artist known as Brian Miller. Brian is a very talented singer/guitarist/songwriter that I've worked with several times over the years. This should be a great sounding record, as the rough tracks already sound great. 12.28.03 Getting around to adding more diffusion in the live room and the control room. Really makes a big difference in the sound of the room. Built an isolation drum riser as well, which improves the sound of the drums. Getting great sounds in that room now. Very happy. I can go from live to dead in a matter of minutes and it's all controlled. 12.20.03 Recorded some drum tracks for new Mus-tard. We started in on guitar tracks but got delayed by some sound issues. Need to isolate Eric's Marshall from the world a bit more. Will add some beefed up isolation over the holidays. 12.14.03 Played an awesome show with the ATB at the Curtain Club. Great crowd! Thanks to everyone who made it out. 10.4.03 Got back from the Spain tour on the 1st. Awesome tour. The People of Spain are great and treated us like royalty. Missing the good coffee, the hospitality and the Freak Kitchen guys, but very happy to see my beautiful family again, and to pick up on some projects that got put on hold. 9.16.03 Fly to Spain for Andy Timmons Band tour. "Guitarfest 2003" Will return on the 30th. 9.10.03 Most recently, I've been working with Andy Timmons on some new material for the next record. We recorded rythmn tracks down at Palmyra studios and will record more when Andy returns from the ONJ tour. We're hoping to release it in the Spring '04. We finally finished Chris Ryan's Meathammer CD. We mastered it at Wextrax and it really came out great. I've also been cutting rough tracks for a new Ugly Mus-tard record. Eric's been programming his assneck off and the new stuff is awesome. Andy, Dan Woj and I did a recording project for Susan Gray up at Luminous Sound, which should be a cool record. She is a very talented singer and songwriter and the basic tracks really sounded good.

Anyways, now that I finally got Andy out of my studio I can get back to some other projects that got put on hold. Mainly Brian Miller's record. This thing sounds really great so far and I'm excited to get it finished. Brian has some game.
Eric from U-M keeps threatening to come in and record some new stuff... but that always seems to be the case. We'll see
A few studio gear updates. I recently purchased an Phoenix Audio Nicerizer 16 channel Summing mixer, an Apogee Rosetta converter, a Coleman Audio control room monitor, and another 1176 limiter. This has taken the sound in here up a serious notch. I like.
I've also been back working with the artist known as Brian Miller. Brian took a break from recording to finish up some ideas and now he's back. We're getting some very cool stuff recorded.
