Recording is the process of presenting a song for a lifetime of repeated listening. It should capture the feel and meaning of the song and present it in it's best form. Finding that vehicle is the art of recording. A song shouldn't sound like individual instruments, it should sound like a single piece of music. Often the right instrument for the part is not the most expensive, but one which conveys the proper emotion and blends with the song as a whole. Throughout recording history, songs which have made the Classic list have been recordings which have a character and an emotion attached to them. Finding a combination of sound and song should be every artist's goal.
